Came across this. It's a nice little patter. I really like the thing he did with the tail. Never EVER thought to do that.

That fly looks good in the picture but that cool tail will collapse into nothing unless it is gooped up.

Popham - im still on these classic patterns...my wife helped me put some flies away as we prepare to pack the house up.  We filled like 6 cabinet drawers of bass/pike flies :lol  I think I have enough of those...I guess thats why i'm interested in these classics so much, as they are complete departure from the norm for me

I'm deep into this addiction.... :whistle

It's almost hilarous, how you went from non-stop meat pike flies to these classic MOM bass flies

thats not a MOM fly :lol  its the body of the Popham, 2/0 salmon fly...sheesh get it right :lol

i'll be honest, if you really want to improve your tying, take the time to tie a few of these simple atlantic salmon patterns...when I go back and tie a big fly, of a bass fly etc, I feel like I can tie them even better than I ever could before.

I also blame all you people here for this...I was happy slinging a jig into the trees with 65lb braid.

I found this fly tyer online. His name is Dron Lee and he runs a website called Fly Tying Nation. I came across this fly called the Yusake Crease Fly 2.0

This guy ties up some pretty innovative stuff and builds upons others ideas. I've been digging through his website all last night and found some amazing flies.

got to BPS and by a rebel popper...done

so many flies these days are really just lures...I don't get it.  Maybe i'm weird.  I'd rather just use a spinning rod.
