New to me - Beulah Classic Switch
« on: August 31, 2017, 02:40:02 PM »

Jeff turned me on to the classified section on Spey Pages last year. Lots of gear and good deals without the hassle of ebay. I bought a used Sci Ang System 2 10/11 reel & spool last year which is used on a Redington Prospector 11'9" switch rod. Decent lines come up for sale occasionally, but I couldn't resist making an offer on this Beulah 8/9 wt 10'6" Classic Switch.

I strung it up with a T400 for some lawn casts last night. Very sweet! I'm going use it with a Rio InTouch Outbound Short WF10I/S3 and hope to christen it with some stripes this weekend.

It's for catching fish and yes primarily in the salt.

Bring that stick out to the salmon river for some silver kings!  its just getting underway and the 750 cfs recreational flow release this weekend should bring in more fresh fish

Oi, I wouldn't hinge the determination of a nice stick on it's ability to catch fish....

Tyler, I'd like to do that. What lines do you use on the salmon river (I know it probably depends on flow).

Ryan, I did get my first on the new rod this weekend fishing with Jeff.

The second one that night was a bit bigger.

Honestly, I have not had much success yet swinging streamers on the Salmon River, but hope to change that this year.  If I'm swinging, I use a floating line with a sinking leader 6-10' feet long.  If I'm dead drifting eggs or nymphs , I just use the floater.
