New fly shop opened in Newbury
« on: November 26, 2017, 11:27:03 AM »

The guys from postflybox opened a retail location on rt1 near the newburyport line.
Great to see another shop opening when others close.

Wow. I heard conflicting reviews on PostFlyBox.

I visited their spot before they opened it for retail. They are now selling rods under the Wade brand as well. They also sell the rods on a monthly 5 month layaway program that they call a subscription model (in line with the monthly fly subscription). The store has all the basics, so it could be convenient in a pinch. It will be interesting if they start selling tying materials as well. They are having an open house on 13 December if you're interested in checking the shop out.

They did have a variety of basics,  flash, zonker strips, thread etc.  as well as their
Kits which make 10 flies.   It seems ok,  not sure i would join a subscription based service
But i might buy an occasional kit to try patterns i don

Been by it a number of times - I believe I saw a virtual tour of their shop not too long ago on Google Maps
