First Fish - 2018
« on: February 15, 2018, 06:26:45 PM »

Stopped for about fifteen minutes on the way home tonight to test cast a different line on a bamboo rod and picked up the first fish of 2018. Very subtle little bump and the line stalled. Whoa is that a fish...Yup.

Nice to wet a line even if it was only a short time.

Nice. As I was driving home I passed over some open water and wished I had a rod with me. Hopefully in the next few days.

Nice work Jeff, this warmer weather hopefully will put a dent in most ponds and provided no heavy cold snaps, late March open water fishing could take off

Thanks, it was really nice to be casting a line let alone catch a fish. Really liking the vintage Orvis a 1955 'Shootin_Star'. Funny they inscribed some with a 'g' and some without. This one is early without. But I am trying a couple of floating lines to put on one of my striper reels to pair up for schoolie fishing. So it was overkill for that fish but fun never the less.

Nice work! I'm hoping to hit the Charles River quickly one day this week/weekend to see anything is around.
