Well she won't but I may be able to. I have some hair bleach and can give it a shot. I use it to get brighter/darker colors  it usually just washes out the color to make it easier to take the dye.

Can I ask what kind of bleach you use?  One of my projects for this winter is to find a way to lighten some moose hair.

Typically I use hairdressers bleach It lightens the hair and helps it take dye better. Something to do with opening the follicles or cells or whatever.
My daughter gets it at the cosmo prof or some salon supplier.
A.K. Best in his book Dyeing and Bleaching Natural Fly Tying Materials used Clairol Professional Baic White, 40% peroxide(not the usual from the drug store) and ammonia.
A good read if you are going to dye and/or bleach feathers and fur

Looking for: full CDC feathers, not the puffs, any color I suppose but a natural color would be best

i've been told I can not buy anymore materials...i'm on a material time out :lol

I have a myriad of things to trade, or can forward along a couple of the flies I tie with them

A while ago I bought a bulk package of Black CDC. They aren't the highest quality. I use them mostly for nymph legs and palmering for small streamers

I was looking to use them for tails on various streamer/classic type patterns.  CDC is a basically identical to toucan...which costs like $80 for a couple of feathers :lol

Anything you're looking for?
