EPIC reports
« on: September 19, 2013, 07:22:14 PM »

Shakey - if this violates FFNE code please remove the links.

Anyway... I lurk on a few forums, some of places I've been, some of places I hope to go, and some serving New England.  Anyway, a few reports have come up recently that I thought were worth sharing.

One from a guy here in CT who took the absolute DIY road trip of a lifetime in Alaska.
http://www.ctfisherman.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/1527777/Alaska_trip_some_fishing_some_#Post1527777

The second from a guy from Washington who now lives in Alaska.

enjoy...

No I honestly don't care about the mention of other free forums. I just regulate advertising, porn, or spam.

I think the best way to do an Alaska trip on the cheap is to get flown into a remote cabin.  Check out this article from a few years back:

Of course this is the guy who I want to use for my first Alaska experience.  I've been reading his reports for a good five years and dreaming the entire time.  The challenge is finding someone else who will fork over the dough.

Great threads.  I got an invite to head to Alaska for 8 days in 2016.  Hoping to put the funds together for it so I can commit.

I had a buddy who flew up to AK, rented a conversion van with a friend for a week and did the whole trip for $1500, including flight.  That's the cheap way of doing it IMO.

The more pictures I see of AK, the more I NEED to go.

If I can't save up the 4k for my all inclusive trip, I may go that route in the next few years.

Anyone know the location of the Drake TR?  Looks like Maine.  Just curious

Would love to do a brookie trip like that one day.  Maybe drag someone on here along from this board to "test some new products" out.

You can PM if necessary.

It looks like Maine and a lot of the comments were saying it was.

I know of at least one river in Maine that holds many fish of that size. :invisible
